If you would like to gain valuable experience working in Canada by updating your career knowledge and enjoy life in a vastly diverse country, then our service is exactly for you! Canada is a large and beautiful country with a high standard of living and offers many unique opportunities for professional development. If you have experience or schooling related to health, education or other relevant instruction, then Canada needs you!

There are several families looking for someone just like you. You will become an extended member of a Canadian family for at least 1 year and will receive remuneration for your work. The family will pay you at least the minimum wage, as stipulated by the Province where you find employment.

Eligibility Requirements

Government Requirements:

1. Step 1: Obtain a favourable Labour Market Opinion (LMO) from Human Resources Development Canada (HRSDC - Service Canada). Typically, the following items will be required:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent of 12 years of study, at a minimum
  • Ability to communicate well in English or French
  • At least 6 months (within the past 3 years) of studies related to care-giving, or at least 1 year of experience caring for individuals. Both the education and experience can be in the fields of child care, early childhood development, caring for the elderly, special education, nursing, first-aid or any area related to health-care
  • No criminal record

2. Step 2: Apply for a work permit at the Embassy abroad. Some of the requirements include:

  • Valid passport
  • LMO
  • Educational credentials and proof of work experience
  • Face-to-face interview

Important: Providing false or misleading information can lead to the rejection of the work permit. Many people believe that having children precludes a caregiver form the program which is not true. It's better to give all required information.

What Vamos a Canada requires from you to participate in this program:

  • Provide 3 work references from non-family members
  • Preliminary interview
  • Show willingness to respect family, personal belongings of others, and a willingness to obey the rules of the house
  • Be a non-smoker
  • Provide pictures of yourself and the people for whom you have provided care
  • Provide an updated CV / Resume' in English and / or French
  • Provide a short introductory video of yourself
  • Sign a disclaimer authorizing us to use your resume', pictures and video on our Website and / or by any other means for the purpose of promoting you to families participating in our service

Program Cost and how to enroll:

If you meet the minimum requirements for the program and satisfy our eligibility criteria, then in order to proceed, you need to do the following:

  1. Complete the registration form
  2. Once you've been accepted into the program, we will upload your profile onto our website and begin the marketing strategy right away
  3. Once we locate a compatible family, we will coordinate with you and the family to obtain your work permit, which will facilitate the process of authorizing your ability to work
  4. You should keep in touch with us regularly in cases any issues arise

Cost:

1. Agency fees, for both local and international candidates:

  • CAD$100 to register in the program. There are no other "hidden" agency fees.

2. Government fees (may change without notice):

  • CAD$150 for work permit
  • Medicals: approximately CAD$125
  • Tourist visa (if necessary): CAD$75, for single entry or CAD$150 for multiple

3. Other costs:

  • Medical insurance (optional but recommended): About CAD$330
  • Transportation
  • Baggage insurance (optional)
